Twelve RSE workers unaccounted for in Hawke's Bay
Minister of Transport Michael Wood said there were 5000 Recognised Seasonal Employment workers in that broader area in the Hawke's Bay.
The vast majority had been accounted for and looked after by employers or evacuation sites.
Wood said there are 12 RSE workers unaccounted for. Authorities believed they may have made their own way to various evacuation sites around the area - and that it would be a priority today to find them.
He did not know which countries those workers were from, but said their respective governments had been told about the situation.
